Does anyone know why my Apple Qmaster System Preference won't let me
"Start Sharing"? Instead, I get a dialog box that says:

"qmasterd not running

Unable to start services because qmasterd is not running. Please
consult your user's manual for more information."

What is qmasterd? That word doesn't appear anywhere else that I can
find.
None of the options in the System Preference work. Most of the buttons
are Grey.
The whole Advanced Pane is Grey.

The manual doesn't tell me what's wrong. I have a full install of FCS2
and yes I checked the radial box to authorize sharing at the beginning
of the RE-install.

This is a RE-install after transfer of info from my Quad G5 at new
bootup to my new 8 Core 3.2GHz Mac Pro with 32GB of RAM and four 1TB
Seagate HDs inside. Did something not get RE-installed when I did
that? All the FCS2 applications run fine. Only the Apple Qmaster
System Preference doesn't work and there is no sharing menu item on
the upper right end of the menu bar either.

On my old Quad Mac Pro the Qmaster is running perfectly. I imagine
this has something to do with the RE-install over old (shouldn't be
there) G5 files in the new 8 Core Mac Pro. But I don't know what files
to delete before I do a successful RE-install for this feature to
finally work.

I want to be able to have a QuickCluster with Services for all 8 cores
in Sharing. So far no luck. There is probably an easy solution. But
I'm stumped.

Thanks in advance for your help - somebody please...
