After playing around with the AVCHD camera some more, I've discovered that
the Log and Transfer window has a drop down menu where you can point it to
any folder (as opposed to defaulting to the camera).  You just have to make
sure that you copy the entire AVCHD folder to your machine, not just the MTS
files.  So you can copy stuff off of your camera/card then re-use it.  I've
done this successfully with the Canon HG10.  I haven't tried it with the
Panasonic but I'm guessing it would be the same.
