Dave,
The fixed cost on that is $1.41 per Gb for 7.2 Tb.
If you need to scale that up beyond that, the cost per Gb stays the =20
same.
With a tape system, there is a higher cost up front at about $2.50 per =20=
Gb for 4.0 Tb of tapes.
However, prices drop like a rock as you aggregate more data:
8 Tb: $1.36 per Gb
12 Tb: $.98 per Gb
16 Tb: $.84 per Gb
20 Tb: $.67 per Gb
24 Tb: $.59 per Gb
The economy of tape-based storage makes huge sense as you scale up. We =20=
are seeing many Tb of storage being backed up on a RED feature that is =20=
shooting now in the Sacramento area.
