The role: Video Editor and Audio/Visual Technician (Temporary)



The Video Operator is an hourly employee who will work in the Google User
Experience Group.



This position is part-time (approx. 25h/ week during regular business hours)
and the contract will run from early April through early July.



Your responsibilities will include transcoding of videos in Final Cut Pro
and Compressor, some editing of videos, ingesting video from HD cameras,
handling AV equipment booking, checkout and troubleshooting and provide
general AV support to the User Experience team. You may also be asked to
perform basic troubleshooting and repair of our AV equipment in the
usability labs. Please note that (while highly unlikely) there is the
potential for exposure to explicit content in this job.



Responsibilities:

- manage video processing workflow for AVCHD transcoding
- upload and manage videos on server
- edit videos as necessary
- manage AV equipment inventory
- coordinate booking requests for AV equipment
- troubleshoot AV issues in labs and fix or escalate as appropriate
- provide general AV help and support to the User Experience team



Requirements:

High school diploma (college degree preferred).
Proficiency with Final Cut Pro
Proficiency with Compressor
Proficiency with Mac Tiger and Leopard operating systems
Ability to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
Excellent people and communication skills
Self-starter who can work independently
