Professor Ward,
Sorry to bother you, but I am very interested signing up for your VART 84 =
class. I am trying to migrate over from the Adobe Premiere platform, which =
I have used for many years. Unfortunately, there is no reference as to the =
time and days of the in-class lectures and/or labs in your email or the sch=
ool schedule (where it says "not scheduled"). I do not want the online opti=
on. I am in the process of retiring from teaching at Skyline College, and I=
have only a few windows of time that might work for me. Can you please hel=
p with a quick schedule for this class? Thank you.

Greetings, Filmmakers!

I'm teaching two Film & Video courses at Foothill College in Spring Quarter=
--VART 84 Video Editing and MUS 81B Sound Design for Film & Video. Both cou=
rses are hybrids, meaning you have the option of taking them in-person or o=
nline. Either way, you have access to the IDEA Center <http://www.foothill.=
edu/fa/idea><http://www.foothill.edu/fa/idea> computer lab, which features=
current video and audio software like Final Cut, Soundtrack, Pro Tools, et=
c. The content is basically the same for the in-person and online sections,=
except that if you come to class, you get the benefit of hearing the lectu=
res and having more interaction with the instructor. Although Sound Design =
is listed as a Music class, you don't have to be a musician to take it. The=
course is really about the under-appreciated art of post-production Sound =
Effects, Sound Editing and Mixing. Good sound design can greatly enhance th=
e production value of your projects, for very little expense. Video Editing=
and Sound Design really work hand-in-hand to create a polished, finished p=
roduct.

Registration <http://foothill.edu/reg/index.php><http://foothill.edu/reg/in=
dex.php> began last week for continuing students, and starts today (March 1=
5th) for new students. Classes start the week of April 5th. Because of budg=
et issues, it's critical for classes to fill early in order to avoid cancel=
lation. So if you're going to enroll, do it as soon as possible (definitely=
by March 22nd). You can always change your schedule or drop a class later,=
but if the class doesn't go, you won't have the choice. Registration fees =
<http://foothill.edu/reg/fees.html><http://foothill.edu/reg/fees.html> are=
$42.50 for the quarter ($12.50 of which are voluntary), plus $17 per class=
unit. Such a bargain! You can check the searchable Schedule of Classes <ht=
tp://foothill.edu/schedule/index.php><http://foothill.edu/schedule/index.ph=
p> online for more information, or email me.

Hope to see some of you in either or both classes!

Best,
RJ Ward
